John England is introducing a range of hemp blended fabrics in January 2020.
This range named “Hempy” includes hemp/linen, hemp/linen/cotton, etc. , blended fabrics.
Hemp is a sustainable fibre from a fast-growing plant that requires very little water and no herbicides, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or GMO seeds. Whereas, cotton is more water-intensive and takes longer to reach harvest age and produces less fibre per acre.
The hemp fibre is tough. Garments made from hemp fabrics last longer than comparable cotton garments. The fabrics are also naturally anti-microbial, and keep the wearer cool on hot sticky days.
